2001 L'Aventure Chardonnay
Tasting notes:
L'Aventure Chardonnay was created in the Burgundian style. We used no malolactic fermentation, and it was barreled in 100% new French oak. The grapes were sourced from Rimrock vineyard in Arroyo Grande, and Careaga Canyon vineyard in Lompoc. These vineyards were chosen for their consistently cool climates, and excellent terrior. The cool climate has created a focused wine with great acidity, a long palate, and complex flavors of apple, peach, and lychee. With some aging under its belt, L'Aventure Chardonnay is now a food wine more than ever. Stephan recommends seafood, as well as white meat, like chicken or pork, served with sour cream and mushrooms.
