Stephan and Beatrice are the reason that L'Aventure Winery exists. Wine has always been a part of their lives, especially for Stephan who made a career out of it at a very young age. Originally from France, they owned a few domaines in the Bordeaux region, where Stephan was already known for pushing the limits of winemaking. After making wine for 17 years in France, Stephan got tired of the French rules and regulations, known as Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, which limited his desire to make creative blends. Beatrice, who has a passion for traveling, was charmed by the idea of moving to a different country. In 1997, they decided to start a new "adventure!" They had a few ideas on where to go, California being one of them. They first searched Napa Valley and Sonoma, being more established wine areas at the time, but did not find what they were looking for. After a recommendation from a French winemaker in Napa, they made their way to Paso Robles where they fell in love with the area immediately.

Stephan and Beatrice are both involved in every part of this winery. Their dedication and passion are felt by everyone and are evident in the wines that L'Aventure crafts. We are thankful that they have created a very family-oriented work environment. For instance, when one breaks for lunch, we all break for lunch, so that we can enjoy our break together.

Since the beginning of L'Aventure, Stephan and Beatrice have given their everything to build a respected winery in Paso Robles. Cheers to them and cheers to many more years to come!
